This is our new privacy notice (“Privacy Notice”), it describes the manner in which we collect, use, or share personal data and information. This applies to this website and the following websites and mobile applications also owned or controlled by Glass America, LLC d/b/a Glass America and Auto Glass Service.

Glass America collects, uses, shares, and retains personal information that users provide to us, or that we collect, when you use the Glass America and Auto Glass Service websites located at https://www.glassusa.com/ and https://www.autoglassservice.com/ or other websites owned or used to facilitate their lead generation efforts (the “Site(s)”) or any related mobile applications used for windshield repair quotes or branded social media sites.

To use Glass America’s products and services, you may find it necessary to provide Personal Identification Information (PPI) and will voluntarily provide this information to purchase products or services, register for newsletter receipt, receive an online quote or participate in webinars or contests directly on our Site(s). By using the Site(s), you signify your acceptance of this policy and terms of service. If you do not agree to this policy, you must not use the Site(s) or mobile applications or provide personal information to us.

You may also have direct communication with us via email, or phone with one of our customer service representatives (CSRs) and have provided us with (“Personal Data”). This data is not specifically covered under this Privacy Policy. Regardless of how we have received your personal data we will not sell, rent or provide this data to any third party without your permission and will not retain the data beyond the time necessary to complete your requests.


When will we Collect Personal Information?

Personal Identification Information
We may collect Personal Identification Information (“PII”) from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when you visit our Site(s), register on our Site(s) for any service, pay online, receive a quote or schedule an appointment. As a necessary part of fulfillment of these requests you may be asked for, if appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, make, model and year of your vehicle, phone number(s). When providing accurate quotes for vehicles with multiple windshield variations dependent upon features imbedded within the windshield, like cameras, lane monitors and rain sensors, we may ask the User to also provide their License Tag number or VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) so that their quote is accurate and does include the existing features. Once your License Tag is used to discern the proper features for the accuracy of the quote, that information will not be retained. Users may, however, visit our Site(s) anonymously. We will collect Personal Identification Information or PII only from users that voluntarily submit this information to us. Any user can always refuse to supply Personal Identification Information but, that may prevent us from providing the service or information you have requested.

Communicating with Glass America

Personal Identification Information you provide to us when your email, call or even send us information about you through the postal service, we will collect necessary personal information about you and store that information as part of the record for your request, complaint, purchase or quote.

Information We Automatically Collect from You

Non-Personal Identification Information
We may collect Non-Personal Identification Information (“NPII”) about Users whenever they interact with our Site(s). When you access the Site(s) through an online connection, we will automatically collect information such as your browser type and version, computer and connection information, IP address along with the standard web log information. This data is primarily used to see the general area our web traffic is originating and to assist in our marketing efforts. Browser and device type assist us in providing you with a better user experience. This does NOT contain any personal or identifiable information.

If you access the Site(s) through a mobile device, we may also be able to identify the location of your mobile device. You can easily choose not to share your location with us by adjusting your location settings on your mobile device.

Cookies to Collect Non-Personal Identification Information (NPII)

We may automatically collect information from you using “Cookies” and other technologies, when you visit our site(s). Information Collected by Third-Party Analytics Services

We do work with third-party analytics services to help us understand what content is of interest to our users of the Site(s) by tracking the frequency and duration you are on the Site(s). We use Google Analytics, to collect information about your use of the Site(s). These Analytics Tools use Cookies to collect information about the content you view, what websites you visit immediately before and after visiting our Site(s). The Analytics Tools provided by Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law. Again, you may adjust your settings to prevent the use of Cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. Your continued use of the Site(s) without adjusting your setting to reject “cookies” means you have consented to our processing non-personal data about you through use of Google Analytics Tools. You always have the choice to opt-out of Google Analytics by installing Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

Information You Share or Post on Third-Party Websites or Post on Social Media Sites

The Site(s) may include links to third-party websites and social media sites where you will be able to post comments, stories, reviews or other information outside our control, we are not responsible for the privacy of any information collected by other social and review websites. When you do post information on public areas of our Site(s), we may collect or (scrape) that information. These posts may result in unsolicited messages from outside third parties. Please do not post any information on the public areas of the Site(s) that provides enough information to identify or locate you unless you really want or intend to share that with the us.

Digital or Online Advertising

Tracking using cookies for digital advertising helps us to manage the campaigns to deliver the information our products or services that either you, or someone using your computer, has expressed interest. Glass America and our digital ad vendors may use the information collected through the Site(s) using cookies. This information gives us the ability to track users across many websites and serve advertising to targeted users and gives us statistics on how well the advertising performs.

How do we use your PII or Personal Identification Information?

Glass America does NOT sell, trade, or rent Users PII to other parties. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal information regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above. We will only share your information with these third-parties for purposes you have granted us your permission.

Response to Subpoenas and Court Orders

We will only disclose your information to government authorities or third parties when we are required to do so by a regulation or in response to a subpoena or court order. In the event you have used our Site(s) to defraud, spam or use intellectual copy that is known to violate the rights of any of our customers or users we will in our sole discretion take action.

Change in Ownership

In the event of a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy or other change in ownership, any user information may be transferred to the new owner unless you reside in the European Economic Area.

The Processing of Personal Information from EEA Residents:
If you reside within the European Economic Area (EEA), our processing of your personal information will follow the following rules:
(i) Whenever we require your consent for the processing of your personal information such processing will be justified pursuant to Article 6(1) lit. (a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”). It is lawful when

(iii) Where the processing is necessary for us to comply with a legal obligation, we will process your information on basis of GDPR Article 6(1) lit. (c).
(iv) And where the processing is necessary for the purposes of Glass America’s legitimate interests, such processing will be made in accordance with GDPR Article 6(1) lit. (f), for example to detect fraud.

Transferring Personal Data from the EU to the US

Glass America, LLC is headquartered in the United States. Information we collect from you will be processed in the United States. The United States has not sought, nor received, a finding of “adequacy” from the European Union under Article 45 of the GDPR. A finding of “adequacy”, in short, means that the European Commission has decided that this country outside the EEA requires an adequate level of data protection. DAS will collect and transfer to the U.S. personal data only: with your explicit consent; to perform a contract with you; in a manner that does not outweigh your rights and freedoms. Without access to this data we will not be able to execute contracts, provide quotes or set-up customer accounts and you will not have access to any or all the features and benefits normally associated with your transaction. We endeavor to apply reasonable safeguards to protect the privacy and security of your personal data.

The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation and other countries’ privacy laws provide certain rights for data subjects (these are persons that can be identified). Please contact us if you have specific questions as to what Personal data we have stored about you. Your personal data is stored by Glass America on its servers, and on the servers of the database management services we engage, located in the United States. Personal data will be kept for no longer than is necessary for the execution of the services you have contracted.
If you reside in the European Economic Area, you can withdraw your consent for the processing of your personal information at any time. The personal data we have received and stored will be erased if no longer needed by us, unless we are required to retain this personal data by law.

Children under the age of 13

Glass America’s site(s) are not designed or directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable data from persons under the age of 13 in compliance with COPPA (The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act). If you are a parent or guardian of a child under 13 who has provided us with personal information, please contact us to have the information removed.

We may need to modify this Privacy Notice to reflect changes. We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Notice at any time, for any reason, without notice to you, other than the posting of the amended Privacy Notice on the Site(s).
